Does anyone have ideas for how I can get a simple tracking mechanism to run at http://BikeRoute.com so people can go to that page, look at the map of the US and see where I am on a daily basis? Here for example is what Jim Redd, who now lives in Ecuador, created for us in 2005: 
It required that we manually position that animated gif in the appropriate geographical location. In five years time has a more turn-key technology not emerged??
